Jamie Sale & David Pelletier
Gold Medal
After only three years together as a pair, Jamie Sale and David Pelletier skated away with all the marbles in front of their home crowd in Vancouver.  To call their rise to the top "meteoric" would exaggerate the speed of meteors. Before joining in 1998, both Jamie and David had competed for eight years with other partners and as single skaters.  In only their first season together, they finished in third place in two Grand Prix events.  Two up-and-down years followed, crowned by a disastrous performance at the 2000 Worlds; but they pulled it all together this season, winning everything in sight.

Romance and emotional connection are the hallmarks of Jamie and David's performances, but they also showed a strong sense of humor with a whimsical Latin number at the gala.

Jamie and David are thrilled at the end of their successful free skate.... .....ecstatic as their scores come up.... ...and bursting with pride as they take their bow at the medals presentation.
